The Inn at Grand Glaize in Osage Beach MO contacted the Midwest Blue Oval Club about doing a show at their hotel. After much discussion we decided to add the new event this year making it our 4th show of the year. We knew nothing about the area nor the hotel where the show was located. We were going in blind for this new event. Once we figured out what we wanted to do, it was game on.
Friday Morning Road Rally
Friday started off with a road rally going throughout and around the Lake of the Ozarks. This was really fun since most of the people didn’t know any of the roads around the lake. This is a timed, distance and point of interest solving event. Everyone ended up at the Wobbly Boots restaurant for lunch and awards.
Below are the winners of the Road Rally.

Friday Afternoon Cruise
After the Road Rally, we met back at the hotel to go on the afternoon cruise to Ha Ha Tonka State Park. It is located just west of Camdenton MO. The area we went to was down by the lake.

After the park, we took off to the Ameren Scenic Overlook on the other side of the lake.
Inn at Grand Glaize Car Show
The day started off and kept wet for most of the day. That didn’t stop these die hard enthusiast from coming out to the show. Considering this being the first show at the hotel and the wet weather, we are pleased of the turnout we had with a little under 60 cars.
Some of the pictures below were shot by Josh Shackelton, one of the show participants and a real Midwest Blue Oval Club supporter.
Veterans Recognition
The noontime Veterans Recognition is always a great activity that we have incorporated into all of our shows last year. We have great comments of appreciation from the veterans and the public who attend our shows. This is no exception to this show.
Color Fest Awards
Below are the recipients of the Color Fest Awards.
Osage Beach City Meeting
On November 6th, the Midwest Blue Oval Club attended the Osage Beach City meeting. President Al Rutherford presented the City with a plaque thanking the City and Board of Aldermen for their sponsorship of the show. The Midwest Blue Oval Club appreciates communities like Osage Beach in welcoming the Club with open arms and thanks to Mayor Michael Harmison for all of his support.
Donations
As with all of the shows the Midwest Blue Oval Club hosts, we donate all proceeds to charities in the local areas of where the shows are hosted. The charities chosen for this year are The Lamb House and The Changing Table. Each charity is receiving $1,250 from the show.
Show Recap
Even though the weather was not very cooperative, the lack of colors on the trees and this being the first show at the Inn at Grand Glaize hotel, we feel that it was a success. People enjoyed the Road Rally with no divorces that we know of. The lunch at Wobbly Boots was great with 48 people that invaded the restaurant plus the afternoon cruise to Ha Ha Tonka State Park and the Ameren Scenic Overlook.
The car show had a total attendance of 56 vehicles with a visit from the mayor of Osage Beach. The noontime veterans recognition ceremony was also a sight that you need to see to feel how these veterans appreciate our support.
The Midwest Blue Oval Club board of directors have approved to bring the show back again next year. The Inn at Grand Glaize is also welcoming us back again next year. We are in the process of establishing a date for next year.
